Our drop-in sessions will equip you with the fundamental digital skills necessary for everyday tasks, allowing you to confidently use digital devices, applications, and online services. You will learn how to safely navigate the digital world, manage information, communicate online, and use software like word processors, spreadsheets, and presentation tools. By developing these core digital skills, you will be better prepared for a variety of job roles and further study opportunities.

 

The Essential Digital Skills qualification will help you:

  • Understand and apply key digital tools for work and study.
  • IT Security.
  • Communicate effectively through digital platforms (email, messaging, and social media).
  • Manage and store information securely.
  • Use digital devices efficiently and safely.
  • Develop confidence in using technology for everyday tasks.
  • Cover other advanced topics such as coding, development etc.

What to expect:

The sessions are designed as an independent catered learning experience; each student will focus on their personal goals & needs alongside covering all the core skills.

The drop-in sessions are hosted at an external venue, which is The Plot, 80-84, Union Street, Plymouth, PL1 3EZ.

 

Attendance days:

The drop-in sessions run every Friday, 10am – 11:30am, and then 11:30am – 1pm.

 

What next:

The sessions will allow you to prepare to move on to the next level of digital skills or an employability course, where you can develop additional skills necessary for entering the workforce, such as job applications, CV writing, and interview techniques. The sessions lay a strong foundation for further study and employment, providing you with the tools to succeed in a digital-first world. With gained digital literacy; you can also explore the possibilities of E-Learning.

 

No formal qualification required, everyone is welcome to apply.

New entrants will be invited to attend the centre to complete the enrolment paperwork and to have a look around the centre.
