What you will learn

The VTCT Level 2 Award in Preventing Contact Dermatitis is a course that has been specifically designed to develop your knowledge and understanding of the characteristics and causes of the ever increasing skin condition of contact dermatitis, and how it can be prevented if you work in the hair and beauty industries.

The purpose of this qualification is to raise your awareness of the skin condition for yourself and colleagues whether you are in education or employment; it also comes under the banner of ‘Every Child Matters’.

Ideal if

This short course would be good for someone who is already working in the beauty industry and needs to improve their knowledge and gain a qualification in this area.

What to expect

The course is online and course work is by theory and assessment. Online activity allows students to study and participate at their own pace. All assessment is logged within a portfolio which is collated and marked by your tutor. Ongoing tutor support is given throughout.

There are no entry requirements,  all candidate applications will be reviewed on an individual basis.

  • are 19-23 and do not already have a level 2 qualification
  • are 24+ and unemployed or earn below the National Living Wage annually (£20,319 from April 2023)
