Level 2 Award in Skin Cancer Awareness

For non-healthcare professionals working in beauty, hairdressing and sports to gain knowledge about skin cancer and how to recognise signs and symptoms.

What you will learn

You will be able to alert clients to changes in their skin and sign-post clients to public information and their GP. Professionals in the hair, beauty and wellbeing industries work closely with clients and in many cases have sight of areas of skin which may not be easily visibile to the client. Public awareness of skin cancer has never been higher, and yet skin cancer remains the fastest growing cancer in the UK, especially amongst young people. The chances of a positive outcome can be dramatically increased with early diagnosis. This qualification will enable hair, beauty and wellbeing professionals to gain the appropriate knowledge and communication skills required to provide non-diagnostic, professional advice and information to clients in a discrete, empathetic and confidential manner.

Ideal if

This short course would be good for someone who is already working in the beauty, nail, massage, fitness or hairdressing industry and needs to improve their knowledge and gain a qualification in this area.

What to expect

The course is online and course work is by theory and assessment. Online activity allows students to study and participate at their own pace. All assessment is logged within a portfolio which is collated and marked by your tutor. Ongoing tutor support is given throughout.
