About this qualification
This qualification is designed for learners who wish to understand mental health in young children in the early years (from birth to 5 years old) and the role of the Early Years Practitioner to support children’s mental health and wellbeing. By completing the qualification, learners will develop knowledge which would support progression to further qualifications and into relevant employment in the health and social care or education sectors.

This qualification is suitable for learners aged 16 and above.
How is this qualification structured?
Learners must achieve the 3 mandatory units.
How is the qualification assessed?
This qualification is internally assessed with an externally quality assured portfolio of evidence.
Do you need to be working to take this qualification?
Experience in the workplace is not required.

• Level 2 Certificate in Understanding Working in the Health Sector
• Level 3 Certificate in Understanding Mental Health
• Level 3 Certificate in Working in the Health Sector

• Technical Level 3 Diploma in Early Years Education and Care (Early Years Educator)
• Apprenticeships in Health and Social Care

You must meet the following eligibility criteria to be able to apply for this course:
• You must currently live in England
• You must have been resident in the UK/EU for 3+ years, for purposes other than study
• You must be over the age of 19
• You must not be on an apprenticeship
