Jack’s Success with Traineeships! Read his story

Case Studies

During my time at Achievement Training, I enrolled on a Traineeship programme with Rita and alongside this I was doing my functional skills, Maths with Sue. I had the chance to do teaching assisting for my work experience but I didn’t have much interest in this role. Rita found me an office based role with a bear charity called Animals Asia, which I found more enjoyable. Rita was also helping me find an apprenticeship that would involve my Adult Care courses, which I was doing at the same time as the Traineeship, we had difficulty finding one around my interests. Until in August I was told about an adult support worker apprenticeship role with a company named Colebrook by Rita. I liked the sound of that so I applied and got an interview, it was my first interview so I was really nervous but Jill gave me the option to come in and practice for it and with the support of Jill and Sue, this led to me doing well in the interview and got I the job. I was struggling to find motivation to come in at times and having a negative mind set towards my maths and English, but with the help of the staff at Achievement Training I got over this and they gave me a more positive outlook and hope. My time at achievement training has been amazing because I was able to improve my knowledge in subjects I was interested in and all the people I got to meet, I am very thankful to my tutor Rita Melville she has given me the confidence to take my next step in life. 🙂
