Since joining Achievement Training and the Childcare Department as a Trainee Tutor in 2008 I have been successful in gaining my Assessors and IQA Award. I have been well supported to help develop myself as an Outstanding teaching practitioner and am now able to use these skills to help mentor others in the department. I have been lucky to use my previous experience in child care settings to support me to teach all qualifications across the sector from employability, Level 2, Level 3, Level 4 and Level 5.

My role entails judging evidence to ensure the students cover all areas of the standards and offering support to all the students when I meet with them, providing tutorials to those who are work based learners. I work very closely with the team of assessors maintaining quality assurance across their work and ensuring assessment practice is adhered to throughout all qualifications that they offer. The support and quality of training that I have been offered has allowed me to do this confidently.

In October 2016 I was promoted to Deputy Curriculum Manager to continue the role of raising standards across the department and to mentor the new staff that come into the company. I have been fortunate enough to have the opportunity to work with external colleges as a consultant, to support the running of courses. As part of my role, I have helped learners achieve strong results at End Point Assessment and as a result am now able to work closely to support all staff as they adjust to running the Apprenticeship Standards with EPA requirements. I also lead the department standardisation 3 times a year.

Achievement Training have supported me to grow not only professionally but also as a person, the opportunities offered to me have allowed me to develop my confidence, adaptability and leadership skills. I continue to gain more experience as a deputy manager, with the support from the Senior Management Team and am constantly gaining new skills and learning opportunities as a result for working with ATL. Thanks to the highly skilled team and focus on CPD I have continued to grow and develop achieving my Level 5 in Leadership and Management and my Level 5 Learning skills teacher. I am looking forward to what challenges and achievements I can gain as I move forward with ATL and the supportive network of staff around me.
