SEN Learning Support Assistants
We are currently seeking 2 qualified Learning Support Assistants to work with our vocational training teams supporting Special Educational Needs based in Plymouth City Centre.
Salary: £12.71 per hour
Hours: 2 posts, 6 hours per day with a flexible range of days per week to be discussed at interview
The Job Role:
The vacancy is for a part-time role throughout the 2026-27 academic year (working term-time only) to support ‘high needs’ learners in working towards their vocational qualification goals.
The Candidate:
- Level 3 qualification (Teaching Assistant, Learning Mentor, Supporting Teaching & Learning or equivalent);
- Experienced working in an educational establishment and with excellent understanding of and commitment to safeguarding;
- Sound IT skills with experience of using computerised systems and office based software;
- Ability to follow lesson plans to support delivery of training and assessing learners’ work;
- Ability to interact pleasantly and efficiently at all levels, both internal and external;
- Good organisational skills;
- Willing to seek guidance from senior staff and work in harmony with the responsible tutor(s) to provide consistent support to learners;
- Able to maintain absolute confidentiality of information;
- Able to work flexibly where required.

Due to the nature of the support work to be undertaken, these roles are not suitable for remote work and will need to be carried out in-person, on-site.
