Exciting opportunity to develop your classroom experience and educational support skills with a Level 3 Apprenticeship!
Working directly with the Education & Child Care Manager in our Plymouth City Centre office, you will help support our teaching teams and contribute to the development of learners at all levels of ability to achieve their goals. Combined with study towards a nationally-recognised Level 3 qualification, this is a great way to really help kick start your career in education.
Starting salary: £14,144 per annum
Hours: 34 hours per week (including weekly day-release for training)
The Job Role:
The job role here at ATL is quite diverse, so you’ll get a really useful range of experience. Full on-the-job training will be given and you will be mentored by experienced teachers to help learners achieve their study goals and career development, with additional support from the rest of our friendly team and specialist tutors to develop your own knowledge and skills.
You’ll be learning how to provide teaching support in and out of the classroom to ATL learners, who are aged from 16 years old. As part of the team, you’ll assist with keeping learners focussed, preparing them for assessment, producing teaching resources, classroom displays and sharing ideas for creating a positive learning environment.
Training on and off the job will enable you to work with the lead classroom teacher to support learners, make sure lessons run smoothly and lead smaller group activities.
For some working days, you may be assigned to help individual learners who have specific support needs. Your role will include ensuring learners understand the work set, know their learning objectives and stay on task in order to make progress.
At ATL, you could be working in different departments on different days, covering animal care, beauty, business, child care and more!
Progression opportunities may include advanced and higher apprenticeships in the education field and with experience, you could work towards a career in teching, mentoring or youth work.
