What you will learn
Over 10 weeks, you’ll gain hands-on experience and technical expertise in providing and maintaining nail enhancements using Builder Gel, a product now preferred across salons and studios for its durability and versatility.
The course consists of two core units:
- Health & Safety Practice in the Salon
- Provide and Maintain Nail Enhancements
You will learn:
- Natural nail preparation and hygiene
- Different tips and how to size, blend and apply
- Builder Gel application techniques, including forming and sculpting
- Filing, finishing, and maintenance treatments
- Professional standards and client care

What to expect
- Training in a realistic salon environment within our centre.
- Learning nail application from week 1.
- Two written assignments.
- Practical assessments: one full set of Builder Gel nails and one maintenance treatment – performed on a peer in your group.
What next
On completion you can gain paid employment working within the Nail sector, or you can progress on to the Level 3 Advanced Diploma in Nail Technology to expand your skills and knowledge. This qualification can help you to move into employment or self-employment as a Nail Technician or develop you to become a senior member of staff. It also acts as a route into qualifications such as: Level 4 Diploma in Management Practice. You could also train in the Hair and Beauty sector to allow you to offer your clients more treatments and gain higher economic well-being.

Salary and Career expectations
You could earn up to £24,000 a year as a qualified Nail Technician. With experience you could manage a salon or start your own business. You could work with photographers, fashion designers or TV companies, preparing nails for photo shoots. You could work in a salon at a health spa or from home. Nationally there has been a big increase in the number of people who work in the sector. Some Nail technicians have high profiles on Social Media as brand influencers.

Uniform requirements
Once you have enrolled we will order beautiful tunics for you to wear each day, you will need to provide black trousers and black shoes, you really will look like a Nail Technician Professional.
For certification; 1 exam as well as a practical assessments covering full sets maintenance techniques and removal of nails.
