This qualification has been specifically designed to develop the knowledge and skills to prepare you for employment within the beauty industry.
What you will learn
This 10 week course will give you the practical skills and knowledge you need to provide and maintain nail enhancements using both liquid and powder acrylic.
The course consists of 2 units; Health & Safety Practice in the salon | Provide and maintain nail enhancements. You will learn:
- natural nail preparation
- different tips and how to size, blend and apply
- how to relate to ratio and forming a bead using liquid and powder (acrylic)
- application of the acrylic overlay and filing techniques

This course is perfect if you are just starting out and want to gain the skills and knowledge required to work in the Beauty industry.
What to expect
You will learn in our training centre within a realistic working environment and will start to apply nails in week 1. There will be 2 written assignments. For your practical assessments you will apply 1 full set and complete 1 maintenance treatment. This will be on someone in the group.
What next
On completion you can gain paid employment working within the Nail sector, or you can progress on to the Level 3 Advanced Diploma in Nail Technology to expand your skills and knowledge. This qualification can help you to move into employment or self-employment as a Nail Technician or develop you to become a senior member of staff. It also acts as a route into qualifications such as: Level 4 Diploma in Management Practice. You could also train in the Hair and Beauty sector to allow you to offer your clients more treatments and gain higher economic well-being.

Salary and Career expectations
You could earn up to £24,000 a year as a qualified Nail Technician. With experience you could manage a salon or start your own business. You could work with photographers, fashion designers or TV companies, preparing nails for photo shoots. You could work in a salon at a health spa or from home. Nationally there has been a big increase in the number of people who work in the sector. Some Nail technicians have high profiles on Social Media as brand influencers.
Nail Technicians make in the United Kingdom circa £24,000 / Annual, based on 424 salaries. The average nail technician salary in the United Kingdom is £24,000 per year or £12.31 per hour. Entry level positions start at £21,450 per year while most experienced workers make up to £47,600.
Uniform requirements
Once you have enrolled we will order beautiful tunics for you to wear each day, you will need to provide black trousers and black shoes, you really will look like a Nail Technician Professional.
For certification; 1 exam as well as a practical assessments covering full sets maintenance techniques and removal of nails.
