  2. Certificate in Understanding Dignity and Safeguarding in Adult Health & Social Care  – NCFE Cache L2

What does this qualification cover?

This qualification aims to give learners knowledge and understanding of the key principles of dignity, duty of care and safeguarding as applied to adult health and social care.

Learners will investigate the principles and how they are applied in everyday work contexts. They’ll also have an opportunity to examine the dilemmas that can arise and the consequences when these principles aren’t upheld.

How is this qualification structured?

  • Introductory awareness of working with other in Health Social Care Children’s and young people’s setting.

  • Introductory Awareness of  Health and Safety in Health, Social Care and Children’s and Young People’s settings
  • Introductory awareness of person centred approach in Health, social care and Children and Young People’s Settings
  • Introductory awareness of equality and inclusion in Health, Social Care and Children’s and Young People’s Settings
  • Introductory awareness of the importance of healthy eating and drinking for Adults
  • Introduction to communication in health and social care(adults and children and young people) early years and child care
  • Awareness of protection and  Safeguarding in health and social care(adults and children and young people) Early Years and Child Care

This qualification is ideal if you have little or no experience, you will learn about a variety of aspects in Health Care and is a great way to see if this industry is for you.

This qualification will help you to go directly into paid employment and support you to find volunteer placements, it provides a great starting point for deciding whether a career in the sector is right for you and provides an introduction into the sector. You could also go onto complete an apprenticeship or higher level qualification.

Salary and Career expectations

The UK average salary for a Care Worker is £26,000. You could care for vulnerable adults within their own homes, day care centres, residential and nursing homes and other healthcare settings. With further training you could work in children’s residential homes.

This class starts at different points in the year. A class will start on the 15th April 2024 for those who wish to attend weekly.

You don’t need any previous experience or skills, this is a starting point to help you move into the rewarding world of health care, come and join us.
