What Are Functional Skills Maths Qualifications?
Functional Skills Maths is designed for anyone who wants to improve their numeracy.
Achieving this qualification will:

Course Levels Available
We offer Maths Functional Skills at:
- Entry Level 2
- Entry Level 3
- Level 1
- Level 2
After an initial assessment, your tutor will design an individual learning plan tailored to your current ability and goals. You’ll receive one‑to‑one support throughout your journey until you’re ready to sit your exam.
Course Duration & Attendance
Your course may last 1–4 months, depending on your starting point and when you feel confident to take your exam.
Attendance includes:
- Centre‑based study
- Supported home study
- Flexible appointments to suit your commitments
Centre Opening Hours is Monday – Friday: 9am – 4pm.
Cost & Eligibility
Functional Skills Maths and English are fully funded qualifications for adults aged 19 and over. So regardless of whether you’re working or unemployed, these courses are free to attend.
Achievement Training has been offering qualifications in maths, English for over 30 years, with the aim of helping young people and adults to succeed in all that they choose to do in work and life.
We’ve made it easier than ever for learners to achieve by using a mix of online and classroom led teaching.
You will be asked to take a Basic Skills Assessment so we can properly assess your starting point.
Fully funded up to and including level 2, for individuals aged 19 and over, who have not previously attained a GCSE grade 4 (C)
