From Apprentice to Learning & Development Professional

Rosie began her journey at Plymouth Community Homes as an Apprentice Customer Assurance Assistant, joining the Level 3 Business Administration apprenticeship with determination and a clear desire to grow. From day one, she demonstrated exceptional commitment, consistently producing high‑quality work and going above and beyond in her portfolio and coursework.

Her hard work paid off when she achieved a Distinction in all elements of her End Point Assessment – a remarkable achievement that reflected her dedication and professionalism.

After completing her apprenticeship, Rosie progressed into a Learning and Development Assistant role at PCH before moving to Babcock as a People Advisor. Her talent and drive soon led to another promotion into the Learning and Development team as a Training Planner, where she now oversees part‑time education activities across the Devonport site.

Rosie also volunteers her time to support new team members and is currently mentoring a Level 2 Business Administration apprentice, using her own experience to help others succeed.

Her journey is a powerful example of how apprenticeships open doors, build confidence, and create long‑term career opportunities.

Celebrating Apprenticeship Success!

We’re incredibly proud to celebrate the outstanding achievement of one of our apprentices, Leah, who has successfully completed her Level 3 Business Administrator apprenticeship with a Distinction in all three assessment areas.

Throughout her apprenticeship, Leah demonstrated exceptional focus, determination, and professionalism. She consistently produced high quality work and fully committed herself to her development and EPA preparation.

Her success also reflects the fantastic support provided by her employer, Ashleigh Manor, who encouraged her growth and created opportunities for her to excel.

This is a remarkable achievement, and one Leah should be incredibly proud of.

Adam’s Journey – From Post‑16 Learner to Inspiring Guest Speaker

Adam joined ATL in 2013 as a quiet post‑16 learner, unsure of his direction but eager to grow. After completing his first qualification, his confidence began to flourish. Motivated by his progress, he went on to complete an IT User course, which opened the door to an apprenticeship within ATL’s MIS department.

It was here that Adam’s friendly, caring personality truly shone. After completing his Business Administration apprenticeship, he made the bold decision to move into a Learning Support Assistant role, supporting learners across a range of needs and leaving a lasting impact on every student he worked with.

When the time came to explore new opportunities, Adam returned to his customer service roots at Plymouth CityBus. Once again, he thrived. His dedication and people‑focused approach led him to train as a bus driver, a role he now loves.

Adam’s ATL journey hasn’t ended, though. He continues to return as a guest speaker, sharing his story with learners and reminding them that it’s okay not to have everything figured out at 16. His message is simple but powerful: every course has value, and transferable skills can take you anywhere.
